COLA's Alumni Currently Swimming in College

Meridith Boudreaux- Queens University

Meridith Boudreaux is a COLA graduate of '12 who attended Lafayette High School.. She recently completed her swimmer career with her senior year at Queens. After graduating high school, she went on to swim for four years at Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina where she had many personal best times, broke records, and became a three-time national champion in Division II Swimming and Diving.

A Little Bit from Meridith on COLA:
"My time with City of Lafayette Aquatics meant a lot more to me than just attending swim practice every day. It was a home away from home to say the least. My family and I moved to Lafayette from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. The transition into a new school as well as a new swim team was pretty tough at times. My sister and I bounced around a couple of different teams here in Lafayette before I joined COLA. Coach Colleen and Coach Sarah welcomed me with open arms and showed me what it meant for a swim team to be a family. I learned how to succeed to my greatest potential in and out of the water with Colleen as my coach and mentor. Dedication, a strong work ethic, as well as striving to be the best version of myself possible, are only a few of the life lessons I developed through this team. I can honestly say if I hadn’t swum for COLA, I would not have succeeded in college swimming the way I did. Whether you just want to have some fun in the water, or you have experience with the sport and are looking to improve, COLA is a place where anything is possible and dreams are made real. I have an endless amount of love for this team, and it will forever be a part of who I am."
