Head Coach - Colleen Dunne Barczyk

Coach Colleen swam competitively since age 5. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Auburn University in Biology/History with a minor in Education. She then went on to receive her Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine. She was a Junior and Senior National Qualifier whom went on to swim on scholarship at Auburn.

She has been the head Coach of City of Lafayette Aquatics for the past nine years with previous coaching experience at All Acadiana Aquatics, Stingray Swim Club (Atlanta, GA.) and Brevard Swim Team (Cocoa, FL.) Coach Colleen has coached numerous swimmers to the National, Junior National, and Sectional level as well as many state level swimmers. She is presently the Age Group Chairman of Louisiana Swimming.

Coach Colleen coaches Ascension and ESA high school swim teams. She has coached ESA to a Boys State Championship and to several girls State Runner Up Titles.

She is married to Dr. David Barczyk and they have two children Victoria 11 and Jillian 6.

Head Age Group Coach - Sarah Landreneau

Coach Sarah started swimming competitively at age nine. She swam for Ed Kelley and the Hurricane Swim Club through high school. She swam on Scholarship at Ouachita Baptist University where she received the Jerry Forehand award for leadership. She was a repeat top three champion at the conference meet.

Sarah was involved in coaching summer league and United States swimming for nine years before beginning work with COLA. She has been with City of Lafayette Aquatics for the past five years where she has coached many swimmers to the State Level.

Coach Sarah was selected a Louisiana Zone Coach for 2007 and 2008. She is also the Zone trip team manager/coordinator.

She is married to Chris Landreneau and has two children Marie 2 and Thomas who is one.

Assistant Age Group Coach - Katie West

Katie swam competitively for eight years including high school at STM. She was a high school state qualifier. Katie has been teaching/coaching swimming for the past 5 years and brings great enthusiasm to the pool deck. . Katie is an Education Major at University of Louisiana at Lafayette

Assistant Age Group Coach - Maria Stegall

Maria swam competitively for eight years including high school at STM. She was a high school state qualifier. Maria has been teaching/coaching swimming for the past 6 years for both COLA and Riverside swim teams. She is the daughter Mary Ellen Stegall- former Riverside Swim Team Summer Head Coach. Maria also coaches the ASH highschool team. Maria is an Education Major at University of Louisiana at Lafayette

Summer Coach - Alexandra Hales

Alexandra Hales is returning to COLA for teh summer of 2008. She swam with COLA for 10 years and is a graduate of ESA. She went on to swim at Lake Forrest College. Alexandra is a rhodes Scholar and is curently participaing in the Teach America Program. She has 7 years coaching/teaching swimming experince. We are glad to have Coach Alexandra back for the 2008 summer!

Varsity Coach - Chris Landreneau

Chris swam competitively beginning at age 6. He swam for Coach Wally Fall on COAST in Alexandria. Chris went on to swim in high school and then in college at Ouachita Baptist University where he was a Two time Division II NCAA All American. Chris received his BA at Ouachita in History and went on to UL to receive his Masters Degree.
He is also involved in coaching several area high schools including STM, Teurlings, and Opelousas Catholic. Chris is married to Sarah Landreneau and has two children Marie who is two and Thomas who is 1.

Special Assistant Coach - Dr.Donald B. Balhoff

Donald is a native of Baton Rouge participated in USS swimming for 14 years. In high school and undergraduate college Donald was assistant coach (three years) and head coach (four years) at Sherwood Forest Country Club (B.R.) summer league swim team. Donald and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1995.

While in college, he was a member Notre Dame Water Polo team. His dental studies were completed in 1999 at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Donald went onto receive his orthodontics specialty certification.

He currently resides in Lafayette with his wife Kristin and children Ella and Jack.
