2010 Zone Team Selection Process

To select the team we will use

• Swimmers who achieve attached Zone Automatic Cuts in any event will automatically make the team. These cuts were created by taking 3rd place times in each event from the previous year for 11-12 and Spring Junior National Times for 13-14 and 15-18. Automatic Times may be short course or long course. Click here for 11-12 automatic times. Click here for Spring Junior Cuts to be used as Automatic Times for 13-14/15-18.
• The fastest swimmer in each of the priority events (listed below) for relay purposes.
• Priority events used for selection:
  11-12 Events: 50 Free, 50 back, 50 Breast, 50 fly
  13-14 and 15-18 Events: 50 Free, 100 back, 100 breast, 100 fly

• For the remaining spots we would select swimmers using Long Course Times to get Hy-tek Age Group Power Points for their best three events. The swimmers with the highest combined score will be selected to the team. In case of a tie the power point score in the swimmers best event will be used to break the tie. If there is still a tie, then the second individual highest score will be used all the way down until a distinction can be made.
• In addition, a swimmers prior Zone meet performance may play a role in selection.
• As a committee we will create the fastest team possible to represent Louisiana at the Southern Zone Meet.
  **Team Size: The team will have 6 11-12 girls, 6 11-12 boys, 6 13-14 girls, 6 13-14 boys, 7 15, 18 girls and 7 15-18 boys. In addition there will also be 7 at large spots to be filled by the committee.
